Advice from mechanics please!
ok
I decided to lower my car with some H&R sports this weekend and it took forever since it was my first time. Anyways, part way through the instalation the Jack somehow tipped over and my car fell on it. I'm usually really careful so don't make fun of me please! The only part of the car that touched was the lower control arm and the jack which was pinned under that notch where it goes.
I got the car up, finished installing the springs, inspected for damage(found none), and took it for a spin. The alignment feels good.
Is it possible that I really f***ed up my car and don't know or mabye I just got lucky?
Thanks

First off, glad we are not calling you "Limpy" now.
If there is no apparent damage, and it rides ok, then I would say you are ok.
No harm, no foul.
Guys? A second opinion ?

oh man, glad you weren't injured! last week a guy here in houston was working under his car, his jack fell, and well, he won't be racing ever again, can't think of an easier way to say that.
your car should be alright, give it a good visual once over, you may want to give your alignment a check.
I really can't stress safety enough, I am sure you are thorough, but please, everyone (not just you) be very careful when you are working on or under your car, each time you put it up be sure that not only you use jack stands (not just the floor jack itself) to support the car, but you put some cinderblocks or something else there so if the jack stand does fail for whatever reason, the cinder block will catch/soften the blow, if it scratches the paint a little, but gives you enough time to react and move out from under your car, consider the scratched paint worth your life.
if you don't have a quality set of jack stands go out right now and purchase some. the same goes for a floor jack.
annother thing, make sure you always raise your car on a flat surface, or the flattest surface you can find.

another good tip to follow, when you get your car on the jack stands, before you start any work, kind of push the car a little, see if the car shifts on the stands, if it doesn't shift, it should be ok.
A shake is ALWAYS a good idea. Also when I work on my car and I'm taking off my wheels I put my wheels under my car as an extra precausion. Better to mess up my wheels a little bit than mess up my body.
yes, I totally forgot to mention wheels.
and if you think about it, rims are cheaper to replace than the Dr bill will come out to be even if you only break your arm, and that is taking insurance into consideration

Thanks for the reassurance guys...
I am going to get an alignment this week just in case...
I think it was because of the e-brake cable not being very tight. (I noticed this morning)
I need to go get it tightened
Man, am I lucky I wasn't under there.
putting the rim under the car is a good idea for backup
I'm going to get a better jack next time too
Thanks again !
