Default Duct tape in place of o-rings for struts/coil-overs?

Since I'm having the damnest time finding proper sized o-rings that will fit my coil-overs a friend said to use duct tape and silicon. Has anyone here ever used this? Does it work well? Does it hinder performance from the coil-over/strut combo? I'm running Skunk2s with Tokico Illuminas.

it will be fine.

Won't hinder anything because the o rings only hold the sleeve on the shock so it doesn';t slop around wihout a load
