ZC distributor seized, Si distributor work?
Ok, 88 CRX Si with a DOHC ZC. Car stalled a few days back, got it towed to my place thinking it was frozen, or bad ignitor.
Pull the cap off, the rotor is melted and about 45 degrees off the timing.
We replace it with another one, get the CRX running, 5 minutes later it stalls again, same problem.
This time I pulled off the ZC distributor thinking maybe the shaft is loose. Well i can't turn the shaft (cam side) without using a wrench. The old D16A6 one easily turns by hand.
Anyone use an Si distributor on a ZC successfully?

Yes you can run the Si dizzy. Only 1 of the bolts line up and you have to repin the plug back to the round plug. This should only be done for a short time(I drove mine for a week) while you are getting a new dizzy. If you run it too long like that you will burn out the bearings because it sits in there funny. I would just get a new one from a 88-89 Teg.
