Alternator removal question

Default Alternator removal question

1990 civic hb SI

I undid the alternator, took off the bottom bracket, and still cant get it out. I was wondering if i have to take the axle off? What should i do to get it out, please help me, un-able to drive for days

If you take off the alt bracket, and the alternator, you can get it out. It just takes a little flanageling. Underneath, and around the wheel well.

You can unbolt the brake booster and squeeze it out that way, through the top. Takes about 5 min to get out. I've done 4 like this way and have never had a problem.

Why not just drop it through the bottom?

It's a lot faster to pull it out the top. This is just what work for me. There is less struggling with the alternator.
