Default I can't get car into gear. Please Help!

Okay, I just finished my engine rebuild. I can not get my car into gear when the car is on. If the car is off, I can it into all the gears no problem.

I am using a Action 2ks Clutch. I got the one for an integra. However, my tranny is a b16a2. My car is an integra 94 ls.

I bleeded the clutch and it still wont work.

This is the first time I am trying to get it to drive. I can not even put it into gear when the car is on, if i do, i'll probably break my shifter before i get the car into any gear.

What should I do?

Is the clutch installed properly? When did you first install this tranny?

Can you leave it in gear, push the clutch in, and then start it? (CAUTION! make sure you set the handbrake and have room to drive in case the car starts rolling) If you can't even do that then you have major problems. It might just be stuck to the pressure plate or flywheel if there was some residue on any of the surfaces, although this is unlikely. Does the pedal feel right? Is the disk on backwards? What engine, flywheel, and pressure plate do you have, because the disk is usually matched to these? Is it the wrong diameter for either the pressure plate or flywheel? Are the hydraulics bled properly so that the pedal is firm and has enough travel? Everything bolted down all the way? Do you know that the tranny is good and doesn't have broken shifter forks or something else wrong with it? Can you hear the syncros grinding when you try to shift? If so, stop doing it right now before you ruin it. That is about all I can think of right now. Good luck.

I think it is my clutch. It may be not on properly.

I don't hear any major noises, because I had to turn the crank, and i've never heard any draggig, or what not..

I'll drop the tranny, and see whats going on.

Thanks for the response guys.

when your car is off can you go through the gears? Then once you start it in N you can't get it into gear? If so, you probably have the clutch in backwards.

pressure plate backwards??? i doubt thats the case I dont see how its possible for the pp to be on backwards, it wont work.
i had the same problem w my crx but with cable trans, it wouldnt go into gear if the car was on but would go in once it was off. I had to play with the cable adjuster for a little for it to work. Since you gotta a hydro i dont know what exactly the prob could be but have you tried bleeding it first, do that before you drop the tranny
good luck

My bad, I didn't mean to put pressure plate, I meant clutch. Sometimes what I am thinking and what I type just aren't the same

It happened to me, turned out my flywheel bolts were loose, be sure to use loc-tite on them. Wasn't fun dropping a tranny a second time to find that.

And for cable tranny, the problem with it is the cable is too tight. You can tell my not having the clutch in the whole way and being able to change gears.

Dropping tranny tonite. What you described is exactly how it is like.

Cuz i spun the crank a few times, and if my disk is fugged, i think i would hear the clutch dragging, but it isn't. So tonite, hopefully i'll notice it backwards, and no damage, and my car will be rolling

I'll keep you all posted. thanks a lot guys...

MAYBE YOU FORGOT TO PUT IN THE TRANNY OIL FLUID...NO OIL AND IT WILL NOT GO IN GEAR...OR IT COULD BE A WRONG CLUTCH OR A BAD ONE...

Okay, this is going to sound really really stupid, but it was my clutch pedal assembly unit. A bolt fell out, and my clutch was not getting enuf travel as a result of the loose assembly unit. I am a tool...

But thanks guys...

Appreciate all the help.
