what the hell is this guy smoking? cause it must really kill the brain cells. he must not know what tt feels like... nor know the reliability behiind that car.
the board did have SOME honda representatives... but overall, they are still comparing hp/$ which is the dumbest thing i've heard. why do you think they buy ls1's? cause its cheap.
also, i think they just put up another victim,. the hsc. they, just like most, speculated only 300hp. Then they keep jackin up the pricee for the nsx... like 100k for one.. which its 80k.

Only one I agree with is the Enzo Ferrari.
Not that it's a bad car, but even if I had the money I wouldn't waste enough to buy a house on just a car, hell I probably wouldn't buy anything more expensive than 90k.

more or less.
Also, if it can turn left or right without skidding and crashing, it's not a mullet rockin 305/350/454 powered beast then of course...it makes their list.
Who cares about handling anyway, the true defining point of any sports car, when romping on the gas and shifting fast is what makes you cool?
(before you flame, yes i know that drag racing is not reduced to simply romping on the gas and shifting fast.

A lot of ignorance. The NSX gets praised for its feel and balance and racecar characteristics, only to be rebutted by a guy stating that it doesn't have the prestige of a Ferrari or the quarter mile numbers. Completely missed the point. I can understand if someone only looks at a car's prestige and hp, but to claim that that's pretty much the definition of a good sports car is absolutely ridiculous.
I don't understand. Are NSX owners supposed to apologize for being able to afford a more expensive car?
Surely, there's enough room for Firechicken and NSX owners to coexist.
Surely, there's enough room for Firechicken and NSX owners to coexist.
Yes, the NSX does look pretty good, and I'm sure it handles exquisitly, too, but it IS overpriced, don't you think? And if you say "just because the NSX owners can afford a more expensive car..." or some remark of that sort, that is rediculous. That is the real ricer sentiment, I'd say. A lot of Honda owners (but not only honda owners, of course) think because they have a Honda, they are something special.
LS1 powered vehicles are so popular because they are cheap, and they are fast. One thing, though. Those that say Camaro's and Firebird's can't handle don't know what they are talking about. Yes, they may be live axle, but believe me...they can handle.
I don't see why people on this thread are upset about the LS1.com thread. There is a lot of truth (and a lot of BS, too) that has been posted on there. Yes, I did read all 12 pages of it.

Supra is the most overrated car.
everyone praises it....like its the god. but it doesn't put down that much WHP, nor does it produce ungodly like times.
Its definitly not a car for the race track...cause it really can't turn all that well. it falls into the "good at highway runs" car.
Atleast a Z06 can outmuscle a supra, out run an rx7, and put the NSX to rest.
While most of you will spout off 1,000WHP numbers on supra's. Go check what 1,000WHP vipers and vettes there are running pump gas. And what 2,000-3,000WHP guys are running on what those supra guys are running(race fuel). WHP doesn't even equate to good 1/4 mile times....nore track times.
If anything...the car I like the most is probably the RX7, and Z06. they seem to have what I look for in cars. handling/speed/looks. everything else falls short either to looks/price or handling.

I'm cool with that. Still don't understand why I should be apologetic about buying an NSX. If I'd wanted a LS1 in whatever model, I would have bought one. Go deal with it.

Wish my car sounded like that....too bad I'm short 2 cylinders

But, they don't handle. Go take a ride in a well setup NSX and you'll probably crap yourself. Yes, there is alot of room for improvement in the F-bodys but they start out way behind, and they never catch up. Their steering feedback is non-existant, you can't see where your steering anyway, and the sudden snap oversteer is a bit unnerving. First time you think your aproaching the edge of the SS camaro's handling abilities your suddenly find yourself facing the other way. *shudder* I hated driving that thing.

The Z06 has leaf springs in the rear
that could be the end of my arguement, but I should point out that it is an amazing car and that Chevy really did well, it is just topped out from the factory handling wise, you can't do to much with a spring shaped like a bow, it's just not linear enough to be predictable. Like Air springs too damn hard to control to worry about.

Well yes, compared to an NSX, I guess it doesn't handle all that gloriously. But compared to a lot of the FF that most people drive on this site, the F-bodies aren't too shabby at all.
