Use a soft bristled brush and some simple green.... Just be easy on it so as not to strip off any of the black finish.... It'll probably take some time, but it should do the trick.... If it gets SERIOUSLY nasty, then use some Castrol Superclean.... That stuff is NASTY, but it is hands down a SERIOUS de-greaser!!! Just make sure you wash it all off really good with some mild detergent soap when you're done.

be careful with this product it says on the label not for aluminum or painted surface which is exactly what you are cleaning. I like to clean and repaint myself. but not everybody wants to take the time to do this. Simple grren is good stuff!!

when i want a good cleaning, brake cleaner does the trick for me. dont use it to much though. it starts eating away at the coating.

when I did mine I just cleaned the surface as best I could with power clean and spray painted the valve cover black. then i took some sand paper and went over the DOHC VTEC to make it shiny again.

After you clean it put armor all on it. That's what I do when I clean it. Once every 6 months or something. Makes it bling very black.
