i have a VIS CF hood and the thing is perfect. the weave is straight and the clear coat is also nice. i would recommend them.

the best hood i have ever seen was a Fiber Images hood, but from what i hear they are slacking now and nobody can get their hoods. ohh well. can anyone confirm that info?

Benen has some awesome hoods as well, but the are Expensive way out of your $300 budget.

your not going to get much for $300.00, but if you wait and save you can get a good quality hood for $400-$600 depending on who you get it from.

Vis or Fiberimages

the hood fitment will not be an issue if you buy from one of the 3 companys i have mentioned. just have to order the correct one for your car and you may have to modify the under skeleton of the VIS hood since your running a B16. the fiberimages you will not.

anyone else have suggestions?

No. If you have a ZC swap maybe you should get the ZC hood. He has a b16, didn't you read? He'd need the siR hood.

Please, don't try and tell me otherwise. I HAVE burned my valve cover for having a stock hood, and now have an siR one from FI and it's perfect.

VIS hoods are awesome, i have one.

I have the ZC one with the buldge. Kinda gives away the sleeper look, but o well, most people wouldnt know why theres a buldge.
