this is what I was told

If you dont have emissions tests in your state, dont waste your money with a namebrand, a straight cat is a straight cat, mine doesnt work anymore, but it doesnt matter, its still a straight cat and i still get all the performance attributes... I got mine off ebay for 30$
btw, when i say it doesnt work, i mean it doesnt convert my exhaust gasses anymore, i probably converts about 1% of the exhaust gases

then just get your local muffler shop to weld on a test pipe, better yet, do it your self, job done. the thing you linked to can be had for $40 of egay and is the same damn thing, most aren't even cats, they just have a single ceramic honeycomb that doesn't actually serve a purpose, but looks real.

As far as I know with cat prices quality costs more money. And with more quality comes more performance..

Yeah thats where I found it on Ebay. But I just want one do you guys think that would have any performance functions or is it merely a gimmick. If so do you know a better one that will do its job and get me some extra HP?

I love the feature list of that first cat, "....a test Pipe or Resonator".

I have a megan racing exhaust, all it is, is an apexi exhaust that says megan racing. Not a bad little exhaust.

the megan cat is NOT a cat.
its a resonator. with that in place of the cat and no resonator it adds a harsh buzz to my gf's b18c1 civic.
for $30 plus shipping you can get a carsound cat off ebay i just bought 3 for $130 shipped. this is to replace my test pipe, a race "cat" from obx (which incidently is identical to teh "megan" one), and a hollowed out cat.

the thing i look forward to the most...no more soot stains on my rear bumper from no cat.

2.25" and 2.5" are the diameter of the inlets and outlets of the test pipe. Just get the same size as the inlet on your greddy exhaust.
