Default itr motor or build up b16a to itr specs

i'm trying to spend the least amount of money here..i have a b16a in my civic right now..in a couple of months, i might have about 3k to 5k to spend depending on how it goes..i was thinking about just turboing my engine but then i thought about reliablity and just might get a itr motor..maybe just a longblock if i reuse some of my parts from my b16a...was wondering what can i reuse..i was thinking about reprogrammin my p28 ecu to itr specs and use my axles and my tranny from my b16a..what else should i reuse or get along with the itr motor? how much does a itr longblock go for? and would it be a nice idea to throw in a 55 to 65 dry shot nos? or should i just turbo or build my b16a to itr specs with itr parts,etc..i'm looking to maybe hit mid 13's to high 12's 1/4 times..sorry so long and thanks much

the second gen b16 head is the same as the itr head, except for the ITR having more agressive cams, bigger TB, and port and polish.

Why don't you get a b18c block, some higher comp pistons, ITR or CTR cams, and the ITR TB...and a P&P while you are at it. You will then pretty much have a ITR engine.

I see you are located in WI too...do you ever go to Great Lakes dragway? What kind of car are you driving?

how about this setup...b18c shortblock with b16a head, ctr pistons and cams, itr valvetrain, springs, retainers, and whatever else i need..probably have my ecu chipped too and upgrade my fuel management..what c/r would i have? and what hp would i expect from this?

I am not sure if you would be able to have this car as a daily driver with CTR pistons on a GSr block. Your compression would be up there........Not a reliable setup with CTR pistons. You may opt for the ITR pistons instead.

The head determines the compression ratio. With a b16 head it'll be a lot lower (and streetable) than a GSR head.

my buddy has a GSR block with USDM ITR pistons and a B16 head with no work except cams and springs he dyno'd 202 to the wheels and his **** knocks unless he runs 100+ octane fuel. So running CTR pistons can happen but just be ready to shell out a ton for some buckets of 100+ octane fuel

so then, you guys are sayin that i would be better off with the itr pistons, right? mixed in with ctr camshafts, etc..right? what else would i need from a gsr besides just the shortblock?
