Has anyone personally changed gearing at all in these trannies? I hear from so many that they could really utilize a different final drive gear. Do people buy some aftermarket FD gear and just toss that one in place of the stock one?

Perhaps i sound ignorant about trannies, but this is one area where i have never really looking into much at all until lately...

What are the different tranny options for the H22A. i know you can buy LSD for 300$ more when i initially buy the motor from Hmotorsonline, but what does this actually add to the engine? Limited Slip sounds great, but what comes stock then-Craploads of Slip? How much of a change is this actually?Could someone please explain this for me? TIA

 

yes, you can get a different final drive. however the cost is pretty lofty.

The lsd is well worth the extra 300 IMO. I could explain how they work but you could find a better answer by searching. Just search for lsd in the prelude forum under archived contents

 

prodrive makes the only aftermarket FD for the prelude. It's a final drive and countershaft, you need both pieces.
