Default Carsound 94000 or 94006 for Type-R?

Ok I have this high-flow cat that is supposedly a "drop-in" fit for the JDM 4-1 header & stock B-pipe. However I found that cat flange (b-pipe side), though it is a 3-bolt flange, has a completely different bolt pattern than the stock b-pipe. The flange on the cat has holes that are too far apart. Secondly the stock cat uses studs and this modded Carsound cat didn't include any bolts to connect it to the stock b-pipe. Third the flare side flange is waaay too far away for the stock spring-joints to connect to the JDM header. argh... I think I may have gotten the wrong part (duh).

I got the part from IPS, and in all fairness the workmanship on it looks great! But I had to drive around with an open header tonight because I was too tired to put all the stock crap back on. Do our cars indeed use the Carsound 94000 or do we use the 94006? The stamping on the modded Carsound that I have says "94000" even though the box says it's for an Integra Type-R. I'm hoping I just got the wrong part by mistake, which is no biggie and that I didn't really do something totally wrong. Thanks in advance!

My cat from IPS had holes large enough to bolt up to the stock b-pipe. You have to provide your own bolts/washers/lock washers/nuts though. Same for the cat to header side, you need new bolts, fender washers, washers, lock washers and two nuts on each bolt back to back.

94006 is what I used...completely plug 'n play with the OEM washers/nuts.

94006 here as well.

The bolts Dave mentions are a good idea; Mike had me use some diff bolts on mine (I got the cat. from somewhere else) and made installing, etc much easier. The stock bolts are crap.

Not sure on your cat. but on mine I had to notch the upper heat shield attached to the car because the O2 sensor was rubbing against it and making horrible noises.

Mines a 94006 too from Mike at IPS racing as well...

Call him and see if yours is correct, I'd guess.

The 94000 designation is the "series" The last number (6) is the designation for the 2.5" Cat, that full number 94006 is printed on the box not the cat.

We only have 2 models of the cats 1 that is for the ITR, SI, newer GSR (17") and the 12" model for earlier GSR's. The cats are made at about 20-30 at a time. I myself Test Fit each to an actual car. We talked about this once on the phone, If you want to call me monday and measure the distances of the Flange we can do that, But I know that I test fitted the unit so I dont see why you had problems bolting it in.

I actually removed my heat shield since others complained about this problem before (and I didn't feel like waiting for it to happen first, figured what the hell )

Here's a full list of the bolts/nuts/etc that I used and where I got them.

Header to Cat:
2x4" 5/16" bolts - Grade 8 from Pep Boys
2 Fender Washers - Zinc coated from Home Depot
2 5/16" flat washers - Grade 8 from Pep Boys
2 5/16" lock washers - Grade 8 from Pep Boys
4 5/16" jam nuts - Grade 8 from Pep Boys (2 on each bolt)

I used coarse threading on the header to cat side.

Cat to B-Pipe:
3x1.5" 5/16" bolts - Grade 8 from Pep Boys
3 5/16" flat washers - Grade 8 from Pep Boys
3 5/16" lock washers - Grade 8 from Pep Boys
3 5/16" jam nuts - Grade 8 from Pep Boys

I used fine threading on the cat to b-pipe side.

I put loctite blue 242 on the header to cat side but will replace that with something stronger when I have some time.
