Not really a stupid question. A lot of oil is personal preference reguardless of what the tests say. I run Mobil1 SuperSyn 5w30 in the winter and 10w30 in the summer (thicker cool and easier on my turbo). Just run the recommended oil weight for your car (5w30) and the choice of synthetic vs. nonsynthetic is more of a personal preference IMHO.

Honda oil IS Mobil1. And yes, OEM fluids and gaskets all get my vote.

i use valvoline 10w-30, im going to start using the synthetic kind when i get more money. i reccommend using that, because this really famous shop that builds hondas here only uses valvoline for oil canges and use a HAMP filter

Redline is EXPENSIVE and Amsoil is as well. Not worth it in my opinion for a non track only car.
EDIT: I only change mine every 3k with the synthetic on a boosted motor and its fine.

I do agree with that. I usually just buy whats on sale, so I dont know this, but
wouldnt the Mobil1 be cheaper then the Honda oil?

Same here except it is 5w30 year round (our summers are nice and mild). It is all a matter of personal preferance. Everyone has a different idea of what is ideal. One thing for sure is no one will tell you that Mobil 1 is a bad oil so that is what I use.

I used to run Mobil1 10w30, but moved over to Valvoline SynPower or whatever 10w30 and have no complaints
Actually I couldn't really tell a difference, other than the valvoline burned a bunch off the first time I put it in (I've heard that's normal for switching synthetics).

I find that adding rocks and dirt helps my engine run better.
Other than that, Mobil 1 synthetic oil 5W-30 all year round gets my vote, as well as the K&N and Fram XGard2 oil filters.
