My first HPDE......in over a year.....I really hope I am not an aggressive ***** out there!!

Any words of wisdom for toning it down?

 

I did my first DE in a good while in Sept. and I gotta believe you'll be totally fine, just take in the scenery until the passing zones

And dude, I would think you'll have a blast at RRR (HPDE or not). The facilities are not exactly classy (charming, yeah, that's what they are) but the bbq salad, grilled chicken kick ***, the track is very ballsy (not too dissimilar to LMS in that regard - we run very similar avg. lap speed between the two), the turns don't _appear_ very complex but this time of year, it should be very fast and very fun.

 

Good luck in trying to tone it down. No matter how hard you try, if you are used to driving fast it will only be a matter of time before you are going for it since you will be more comfortable at speed. It's also that whole woo hoo and adrenalin thing that eventually gets to you...

You will just need to be a little more on your toes if you are out there with a bunch of newbies who aren't used to having an aggressive p****k sharing the track with them. The new drivers will not have the hang of peering into their mirrors from time to time and may become uncomfortable with you bearing down on them as you wait for a "point by".

I'd want you as in instructor!

OK, not neccessarily constructive, but I'd still want you to instruct.

 

my bet is after two laps i'm gonna be going ***** to the wall.....but i have to remember to keep my head about me cause i would like to instruct for this group sometime!!

i will just be considerate out there and i think i'll be fine!

Are you going to the PCA event at Roebling, Chad?

Couple of friends of mine will be down there, one driving a red Z06, possibly on R compounds. The other will be in the parking lot, beer in hand

Nah, not going to be able to make this trip

Just got back from four days away from the fiancee (boys-only ski trip), and she'd kill me if I tried to leave again this soon

Ben is the Z06 driver, our pal Drew (tallish-guy with graying hair and glasses) is riding along for the fun of hanging out at the track.

Maybe I can make the FLA we-todd event. If not, I'll try to catch up with you at VIR-full in March maybe.

 

Since your the mastah stunna, here are some ways to slow you down so you don't scare all the kids in the DE...

1) Throw some phat chrome dubs on your car- "y'all be Blingin'"
2) Keep the e-brake up at all times- front wheel drifts anyone?
3) Drive on 4 spares (all different sizes)
4) drive in the center of the road at all times- no apexing allowed
5) rent a geo metro
