88 crx si tranny different from 89-91???
i already have some axles i'll be using for my D16A6 swap into my 88 crx hf but mine are from a 91 crx si tranny and i was told that the 88 tranny has a different spline count on the tranny side. is this true? so i would have to buy specifically 88 crx si axles? i thought they were all the same but the only difference was that the 88-89 si trannys have a smaller spline count concerning the clutch or something? i don't remember but i know you have to get a different clutch for an 88-89 then the 90-91's. well thanks for anyone who can clarify this for me.

88-9 vs 90-1, 90-1 add a bigger(diameter) clutch.</TD></TR></TABLE>
so i can't use my 91 axles with my 88 tranny right? man...ain't that a b*tch

the Si axles will not fit your HF - it is not the transmission end that doesn't fit, it is at the hub end - the HF hubs are smaller - your HF axles will work with any 88-91 Civic/CRX L3 transmission (except for ZC) - you could swap your knuckles/hubs for ones from 88-91 DX or Si and use the Si axles
