theres a scammer going around buying cars with fraudulent cashiers check
Last night my friend sold his rhd ef9 (gunmetal) TO A GROUP OF SCAMMERS!
they gave him a cashiers check, we were fishy about it, so we held on to the pink slip till the check would clear, we got it all in writing, and they took off with the car. This morning my friend cashed the check, and it was false. Now he has no car, please do not post any negetive feedback, I just want to warn everyone that there a group of scammers claiming that they are from "C&C motorsports" It was two black guys, one tall, the other about 5.8 or so, beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they were also driving a dumped white ek coupe with euro taillights, clear headlights, and a yellow and red dealer plate

dude...thats sucks! it almost happened to me too! some guy claim he will send me a check and whatever is the remaining balance that i would have to send it back. luckily i didnt know how to ship to i cancelled it. damn. sorry man. good luck!

hey where did u guys meet up at (city) when u sold him the car.since they mention CNC. im real close to that gayass shop. so they must live in the 909 area. ive seen a grip of white ek coupes with euro tails around here. ill keep an eye out n ask around.

F*@#% a holes. Was it the RHD or what I will also keep my eyes out for it and was there anything that may catch my eye about the ek like dents or anything.

I feel so bad for you.
When selling a car, get cash, or make sure you go to the bank with the person that is buying it to verify that the check is good.
When i bought my car, I paid cash, and that was 10k
its the only way to make sure

THis same **** happened to me about 6 monthes ago. I got the car back though in perfect shape, thank god. The crazy thing is that I even checked with my bank, I asked them to verify that it was good and they said it WAS. So i just got out of a lawsuit with them. I won 2000 grand from the bank. It was 6 monthes of hell until the police finally returned my car. The crazy thing was the thiefs tried to sell my car in the autotrader , I was looking through it hoping to find my baby and I freakin found it. Called the police the next day and they got it back, I had a detective working on the case too , and I am the one who found it. Theives suck, they all deserve to freaking die. I learned a big *** lesson too. CASH ONLY. NO EXCEPTIONS. good luck with the car though man

Hope these thevies are as stupid as yours were.

Word of Advice for people:

Whenever I've sold any of my cars, I always ask to see the person's drivers license. I write down all the info just so I know exactly WHO I'm dealing with. I think situations like the one above can be avoided somewhat if you just take this added step.

Anyways, hope things work out for you man.

HOLY **** thats all I can say right now I'm still in shock

 

same thing happened to me with my mr2 turbo, except the guy that did it is a dumbass for leaving the car in front of his mothers house and being in the military which made it riddiculously easy to find him and prosecute. good luck with it, i wish you the best.
