probably PIAA have some bright yellow lights....it might cost more than you bargain for if the cops decides to ticket you

I will check with my friend on the headlight bulbs. Just last weekend he was telling me how he didn't want to drive his BMW because of these yellow bulbs he purchased. He mentioned the brand HID, but his BMW takes halogen and he hasn't retrofitted. Since he is back in town I will find out which brand the lights are.

Addendum: The cops were pulling him over here (Oklahoma), but not in Dallas.

FYI, they are illegal as they don't fit the SAE definition of "white light".

But honestly, who is going to argue with a police officer not pulling them over?

I'm just pointing that out as some people take that into consideration.

they are called Yellowstars by the company Hella.

http://www.rallylights.com/hel...s.asp ...I'm a hella rep : )

Make sure you get the high wattage ones, i think 85/100. The lower wattage ones look like a stock pontiac headlight lol

At any rate, very good bulb with excellent life and light.

As far as legalities; check your DOT. They are not illegal everywhere.

There is a maximum allowable wattage depending on the bulb. High wattage (higher than stock) is illegal according to the provisions of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard #108, which supercedes all local and state vehicle laws. This info is just for those who are interested in full compliance. Of course, the chances a cop will pull you over for high wattage bulbs isn't that high.

Awesome in foglights. That is their intended purpose, a light to deal with fog, however, when used as headlights, they work great as well...a very neat look and exceptional lighting.

NOTE- these bulbs are true YELLOW, not gold or yellowish..

Why would yellow lights be illegal? Anyone know? It seems kind of stupid considering no emergency vehicle has yellow as a "reserved" light color and they give the best light out put.

I have some yellow ones in my car. Don't remember what brand they are, but I installed 'em about 3 years ago. No problems yet, and they're awesome in fog, snow and rain. Not as much glare as stock or those damn blue ones.
