Default Really tough decision

I've wanted a 600CC sport bike for a while now, and I just put my car up for sale so I could buy one, then comes the offer of a lifetime, a straight trade for my virtually stock 98 cx hatchback for a 2000 Si with a built B18C5....

I know if I take the Si it'll be a long while before my dad will be able to get a loan for me to get a motorcycle (he just bought a new S2000), and if I sell my car and buy a bike I won't have a car for some time either (my dad has a 97 DX 4 door automatic that I would drive until then....)

What would you do?

How reliable is the Si? Is the builder of the engine reputable? Does it come with any warranty? I'd be suspicious if someone wanted to trade his car with modifications and what not for my stock car.

I say go with a bike. It'll be faster than the car (if that's what you're looking for). Plus, you'll probably have a little bit of money left over from the sale of the car and purchasing a bike. And you still have access to a car, which will come in handy if it's pouring real hard or if you need to get groceries, or whenever using a motorcycle is not practical.

Have you taken the MSF class already?

I'd take the bike in a minute . . . screw cars, they cost to much and are too slow . . .

I think the same guy tried to sell me his car man, something seems fishy about that deal. He told you the car was stolen right? and the only thing they stole was the head... supposedly. I really doubt anyone would take the time to break into a car, pop the hood, and just steal a head. Seems quite pointless to me.

I am also trying to sell my car, I just bought a GSXR-1000, can't wait to get riding

Yep....bike! Especially since you would have a car to use whenever needed.

get some more info on that car, then trade cars. Then resell that si and get more money then get a bike.

Something does sound really fishy tho how he wants to do a straight trade.

if it's sounds too good to be true it is. Either you take that to heart or you learn it by experience.

No.... Ok this guy traded his 92 hatch with 5 lug and c5 for the 2000 Si without a head...

The thieves only stole the head because it's easy to take off, you have to drop the whole motor to take the block out too and if you don't have a garage that's almost impossible...

Another thing, this guy owns a junk yard and pays next to nothing for wrecked cars and lots of the imports he gets have swapped engines so he's planning on taking my hatch and swapping the motor in it too...

I think what I'll do is get the Si and sell it and buy a bike and have some cash for other things...
