Brake upgrade question
I'm asking for a friend that has an Accord, and I just wanted to double check a few things...
His car is a 97' LX..
#1 will the V6/Wagon 11.1'' rotors directly bolt up to his accord ?
#2 will the legend/NSX calipers bolt right to his accord ? Is he going to need anything off the legend/NSX besides the caliper itsself ( basiclly can he just go buy the calipers for a parts store and bolt them to his car with the 11.1'' rotors) ?
He was telling me he was about to spend $480 for just AEM rotors !!!! I said your just stupid if you do... Its only street raced every now and then, and not driven everyday... He needs to replace his factroy stuff though, he needs new rotors weither they be OE or upgrade...

ok.....if ur talking about a rear drum to disk conversion, ull need more than that....im not sure if the front rotors from a V6 will line up either........i didnt know the V6 had larger diameter fronts.......as for the NSX calipers...i know alot of ppl have done that, but as for if it will bolt up im not sure
Shut the **** up... I hate that ****... just tring to get confirmation and some ***** has to post that ****.... I did search or I wouldn't even have know about the V6/wagon rotors and NSX/lengend calipors... Just wanted a confirmation...
"do a search, yahhh, my name is Timmie !!!" H-T style...
Of course it would have been faster say "yes, you are correct".
Say you walk up to your friend MR.X and you say, " hey, Mr.X can I put a Y8 intake on a D15b2 ? and then Mr.X say, " well, I know, but I'm not going to tell you, go to the libery and look it up in some service manuals"... Wouldn't that **** you off...

Lets all take a nice deep breathe, ready? In............and out. Now don't you feel better?
You're always going to encounter people you don't agree with on this site. Best thing is to ignore them.
And, no, I have no idea about the brakes, sorry.

Sorry I freaked out the "use the search" dude, but that just drives me nuts... I help when I can or I don't say anything...
BTW running my HMT'd civic this weekend at the track against my bro's 95' Z28, my friends fox body 5.0, my other friends 10sec GN, and maybe a few bikes... Hopefully I can win the MPH battle even though the ET. war is pointless ( concerning the Z28 and stang, the others are kinda in a different league)

I have this set-up on my '94 EX. You can install the V6 rotor (i used plain jane Brembo blanks) and the legend/nsx calipers (personally - I have the legend ones). Your major item you will need is the caliper mounting bracket for each side. When I was looking to do this upgrade, many parts stores only sold just the caliper w/o mounting bracket. While your at it, might as well install stainless steel brake lines and pony up a few more bucks for better pads.
After doing this upgrade. I have plenty of stopping power when driving. I will not purchase any of those expensive brake kits as you are only paying for the name.

I just picked up some Brembo OEM blanks and Axxis Metal Masher pads that are going to be put installed on Sat. I'll let you know how it turns out after I break them in.

you will need the calliper brackets and you can either use the 25t or the 28t...the 28t will be easier to find i am assuming since they came on the 95-97 accord v6's...legends seem to be sparse in junkyards for some reason...
my setup is the 2 piston callipers, axxis ultimate pads, and 11.2" G3000 rotors from cobalt friction...plenty of stopping power for my daily driving...
also, just an fyi, the legend callipers have slightly larger pistons than the nsx callipers and are about 1/3 of the price of the nsx callipers...you are basically just paying for the nsx logo on the outside of the calliper if you go that route...
