my car bounce all over
whats up i got a 88 hatch with brand new tokico blues and skunk2 coilovers which are off my 98 civic the car has a 2.5 finger gap in the back and 2 finger gap in the front. so its not really lowered! but car bounce over every bump like it is slammed to the floor! what the hell is wrong! is it the skunk 2 coilovers.
its NOT the coilovers. bouncy ride is underdampening. which means teh shocks arent dampening the spring well. tokico blues arent the best shock to have on a lowerd car

that not nessarialy true.. when i bought my rex is had some very cheap spring on it.. and brand new struts, and it bounced like ****.. i put stock springs back on and the same new struts and it rides like a champ.. so it could very well just be the coilovers just being to chessy, but i thought skunk2's were good?.. i guess just the manifolds?

did you forget to cut the bumpstops?

blues from my experience are bouncy shocks for the first thousand miles or so. also like everyone else said .. the coil overs are just bouncy.. not the greates coil overs in the world.. you can try to cut you bump stops down a little and see if it helps.
First of all using shocks off of a 98 civic is gonna make your car higher and u lose travel if u want it at your original height. Get the correct shocks and the irde will be tolerable.

Tokico sells shocks for the 88 CRX rear that is the same part # for a teg - type r. So i don't think it's a huge issue.. ???

Sounds like my friends old setup, he used the skunk2 integra kit on his hatch. The coils are too stiff for the weight of the car. Tokico blues, don't have a lot of suspension travel when lowered. You might want to keep that in mind.
theres no way the skunk2 rates are too stiff for the weight of the car. my coilovers are 672in/lbs in teh front which will blow the doors off skunk 2 sleeves. and my car is not bumpy. im telling you from suspension tuning experience. the shocks arent enough dampening for the skunk2. get real shox and it will "ride like a champ" if ur using ek front struts, thats your problem as you are probably sitting right on the bumpstop because the ek front shock is longer than the rest.
the only way to do cut the bump stop while ont eh shock correctly would be to cut it around, then slit the part that your taking off and pull it off the piston shaft. leaving teh rest of the bumpstop in one peice.

In my experience, blues are basically like aftermarket stock shocks. I used them with stock springs with no problems. I also used them with some heavy spring rates and they definitely couldn't keep up - car was SUPER bouncy.
You need to match the shock valving to the spring rating. Hight spring rates require matched valving or you risk blowing the shock.
Swithc to a lower spring rate or get some shocks that are valved to handle that rate.

I've got Blues/Pro-Kit, and the car pushes in turns pretty hard, serious understeer. And going over railroad tracks or moderately bumpy pavement produces loud, painful noises from the wheel wells.
Are far as I'm concerned those coilover kits are crap. Get a real set of coilovers(Tein or Showas).... Or get a matched set of dampers and springs. I love the Showas I have for my car....
ok look it is just the coilovers off the 98 the struts are for the car!My car is not lowered that much if you looked at it you could not tell the difference from mine and a totaly stock hatch! and the struts are brand new! i have the stock motor in there until swap my motor in 2 weeks thats why its not lowered that much!
