Mugen hardtop or factory? What do you think?
Well..Im sure every S2K owner has the option of a hardtop in the back of there mind..all though very pricey..u gotta love em
Anyhow..what I have come down too..is which one?
Mugens hardtop for 2500 non cf top
or from hardtopguy for 2500.00 on an oem one.
What do you think would be better for everyday driving and fitment quality?
What do you think looks better?
Thanks guys

ITs your money right? you decide.
here is a great site to pics of many many hardtops (oem, mugen and others) in many diff colors. Look at this and you decide, cant go wrong with one or the other, both are great.

my main concern is...fitment quality..is removing and installing the mugen one just as easy as the oem one? I know its my money..however being a nuscence to the s2000, I dont wanna pay alot of money for problems
Both fit well. The Mugen top uses the same mounting kit afaik.
For $2500 the OEM HT also has a headliner and is painted. The Mugen HT is unpainted and does not have a headliner.
I prefer the way the Mugen HT looks though, only time will see which one I actually want to pay for.

mugen fits like stock. It's more aerodynamic as mugen says it was windtunnel tested. Remember, it's mugen and high quality. You are also paying for the name. The OEM top is better for blind spots as there is glass there while the mugen top has a smaller field of vision.
Ive had both.
The mugen one looks way cooler to me. but you have to paint it and put it all togther (including put the window in)so thats kinda a pain in the ***. The fitment is very good but not quite as good as oem.. its close but I always had some problems with rain coming into the driverside window slightly. only a few drips came in but still. Make sure you do a good job siliconing in the rear window too or that will leak like hell. It has a bigger blind spot then the OEM as well but the rear window is slightly larger then the one on the soft top.
The OEM one is well, OEM
it doesnt look as good to me, but has better rear visibility and it has a rear defrost if thats important to you. It fits perfect and is less work to put in.
Once you have them both installed they are equally easy to put on and take off... SO you can take your pic.. cooler looks or less work

no because its still a convertable. the soft top remains underneith the hard top.
