Default Car theft, we gotta stop it (mainly for nova but all posts welcomed

this **** is getting out of control, im in high school and i cant afford to get my car jacked and neither can anyone else, im tired of it...well the reason i started this thread is to get everyone who has there car stolen, broken into, or someone tried to break in, etc. in the area (or if outside the area just say that or to start threads for your area). To post about. What kind of car do you have? What exterior stuff do you have (i.e. carbon fiber, stuff rims, tint) Interior stuff (i.e. head unit, race seats, etc.) and most importantly what security did you have, what kind of alarm if you had one, igntion kill (real or just ripped out the fuse) club, other locks, etc. Where did it happen your house, the mall. Any idea why? Did eveyone in town know you had a swap or did you have beef with everyone. Ill chart this and figure out what theives target and what stops them so we can put an end to this bullshit. Since we all know cops don't care. Please Help, Always Remember **** Thieves!

I know what you are saying. Car break ins are common around Fairfax County schools. So many rich kids with unguarded cars. My suggestion woudl be to get the pager alarm and park only on school grounds (yeah it sucks during lunch time not being able to leave / skip class ) but it's worth it. No ones breaking into cars on school property. Good luck

Good alarm, autolock, and kill switch. I have yet to hear of a car getting stolen with these 3 items.

I look at car theft as a part of the game.

Just gotta be smarter than the thieves, and try to stay more low key.

Instead of dropping $3000 on a B18C1, put it towards building an extension on your parent's garage so you never have to worry about theft again. And I don't want to hear this bullshit about, "thieves can magically pass through garage doors and levitate your car onto their pinto and steal it still y0!" because it's horseshit.

I don't feel the least bit sorry for anyone who gets their Civic busted up or stolen if they spent a dime on performance before security products and a garage.

Convince your mom that her 1995 Grand Prix is much more safe outside than your Civic and sleep better at night. It's not ****** rocket science.

Not in your area but had a car removed for me and never recovered, I loved and miss the car, after i got me a new car and got it fixed up I straight up went with a lojack system. But i have since sold that car. The one I have now when I get it fixed up, i'm going with pager alarm, and On star, as if some one steals it the page goes off and on star can kill the car and can tell me the exact location. Hmmmmm.......if onstar can unlock your doors for you remotely I wonder if they can lock the ******* theives in the car till i can get there and put the beat down?
One can hope! I do highly recommend Lojack or onstar and they also lower your insurance.

I agree with you Archidictus, but honestly, you can't just park your car at your parents house 100% of the time. If you live in an apartment complex, there are no garages really (and your car can be broken into in the little things they have ask Beighteeneze or something like that). You have to go to school and run errands every day. Some people suggest getting a beater, but for christs sakes, its a Civic, not a 2004 E class or something. Nothing can safeguard your car 100%, period.

i've had a head unit stolen out of my old civic 90 hatch in the Little Rocky Run townhomes in Centreville, and in my 98 civic i had subs and an amp stolen out of the trunk there (while i was in a friends house that lives there for about 30 minutes ) i have about 5 friends that have all been broken into in that neighborhood, one friends civic wound up in MD sitting flat on the ground (they kicked it off the jackstands)

also i've had some thieves tried to break into my 98 civic infront of my house (not going to say where i live) but they set off my alarm by popping the hood. the cops ended up getting them on the ground at gunpoint, with about 4 or 5 squad cars all over my street at about 2am but they had to let them go. they said they were 2 hispanic dudes from alexandria. they were driving some maroon POS 80's camry or something like that.

i doubt anybody will disclose what security they have, where they live, etc. because im sure thieves patrol these boards...

viper also has a satellite based add-on piece. better than lo-jack b/c you can monitor your car yourself and start ,open doors, check how fast its going, allsorts of stuff . its a grip though....$800 ....but worth it

he wants to know all that stuff if your car has
been stolen.

exactly what I was thinkin. He wants to know what people have on their cars and where their located so he can "Chart" it. Little advice, don't post your exact location on Honda-tech, because i'm sure theres tons of theives that browse the boards. Not saying this guy is a theif, i'm just saying, its a good idea to keep your location to yourself.

well im not a theif, i dont wanna know ur exact local, and i was mainly talkin about cars that already got stolen so it wouldnt be worth anything, im jus trying to figure out how to aviod thevis, and i know they read these forums so it could all be worthless, but im jus tryin to give it my shot, but if it is too the piont were we cant even talk bout on here than it is worthless, i would like to do the whole chart idea, but not if thevis are just gonna use it agisnt us, i jus wanna do something to reduce theft, casue im so tired of it, i would still like to keep it going or move it to a smaller forum, but has anyone had there car jacked with a full pager arlam (is viper any good) auto lock igtion kill and fuel cut... thanks....

Here is an idea

lojack + autolock + good alarm = NO one will get your car.

And I dont see why posting what WAS on the car, because if im gonna steal a car, im gonna strip and sell all the parts rather than drive the stolen one. Its a matter of making money or getting caught in a stolen vehicle... I wonder which i'll choose?

With that said...maybe I should say that I have C4 hooked upto my alarm...so if someone breaks in, the car blows up...then a GPS system for the fragments of metal in his/her head so I can find out what hospital they are at...then proceed to pull the tubes out of thier nose and wrap them around his/her neck...

I hate thieves...espically bad ones that destroy everything.

Flat bed truck. You cannot keep your car 100% safe. You can slow them down, thats about it.

EDIT: Mike93eh, me and Archidictus convinced some kid a while back we could sell him a forcefield for his car..let me see if I can find the thread.

EDIT x2: here it is. Classic stuff!

lojack + autolock + good alarm = NO one will get your car. unless they have a tow truck

no car is theft proof. unless it has some sort of invisible electric force field around it..

Hi, Lojack has a built in GPS feature. And there are other GPS security systems you can get. Combined with an alarm like auto start where the remote actually has a picture of a car and goes off when your car is bumped, opened or what not.
-You will then know when they are actually trying to take your car
-And even if they take it, you can immediatly call the car in stolen and they can GPS it. If the crooks were smart, they would be running the channels, and as soon as they hear your car description come through they will drop the car and take off.

So yes, even against a flatbed, you can be safe.

Yea i understand exactly what your saying. And I wasn't accusing you of being a theif, you just can never be too careful. Its hard nowadays because like everybody has said, even if you have a killswitch, autolock, alarm, theres no stopping a flatbed. Park your cars in a garage if possible. When you park, turn your steering wheel so it locks, i don't know if theres a way around that without the key, but its another step.

um, hi. if you are tracking your car with gps, then obviously your car has already been stolen and your just trying to recover it. again, no car is theft proof.

this is what i have done to my car, i found that this setup will stop a thief in his tracks..
