OT: Spoon Replacement

Default OT: Spoon Replacement

i was wonder if #17 on the OEM brakes are used in the spoon ones as well? or are spoons compteley different? thanks

Spoons do not use the stock caliper mounting bracket.

Referring to the clip maybe? Spoon's do not use that clip if that's what you're asking.

Does it really matter which ones they use?

Edit - They use Nissin clips which were designed for the Spoon calipers.

so is there anyway i can replace these. i dont need to replace these, but its just a question i thought of and just incase anything happend to these.

If you ever want to go back to stock, I'm sure you can just order the parts from your local dealer. Granted it will probably be something they do not have in stock and will need to be special ordered.

if you ever need to replace those parts from a spoon caliper. i think any nissin brake dealer can probly order that for you, or any spoon dealer, (if they are infact a spoon authorized dealer) can s/o those parts.

I can't imagine clips going bad. I mean, I've reused clips on a 100K+ mile, Buffalo wintered car when I need to replace the calipers with rebuilt ones.

I'd be interested in seals more than anything.

yeah, i think its more likely to loose one, than brake one.

btw what happened to the pic?
