I'm in the market of buying new tires for my rims. Do you guys know what are the widest tires that I can fit on my HX rims? I want to go 195...but I'm not sure if they will fit or not.

Also, should i go with 65 or 60? Thanks alot guys!

I fit 205s on my 14x5" OEM Honda rims, but they barely fit.

 

Would 60 be alot better than 65 though. I'm trying to decide among the two...

 

Yes 60s are better.

The middle number is the sidewall height based on percentage of thread width.

So, a 175/60 is going to have a shorter sidewall than a 195/60

So with a stock tire of 185/65 and a different tire at 195/60.
The sidewalls come out close enough

Relativly, you can compair the sidewall heights....this is not accurate!
185/65 sidewall is 120.25
195/60 sidewall is 117
195/65 sidewall is 126.75

Thanks alot guys! I think I'm going to get the Kumho 712s, for the price and I tthink they last longer too. You guys are really helpful!

 

hope you get the 712's for cheap because I have them on my beater and they suck. Weak in dry weather and wet IMO.

 

One more thing......when you say sidewall height, that is referring to the overall diameter of the wheel right? So the diameter of a 195/60/14 wheel would be close to a 185/65/14 wheel. Sorry about the questions, I'm just a total newB

falken ziex.... i have them and love them....directional, they own azenis in treadwear and are the same with traction....all season performance tires for me, i dont like going through tires with every oil change
