i want to lowering my 88 crx si. but i dont know what to use coilovers or springs. i want lower it about 1.5-1.7. any suggestions??????

I would suggest H&R sports, on konis, or bistiens with a camber kit

 

i want nice and smooth ride, right now my ride is bumpy because i am still on stock springs and everything.any more opinions please????????

 

less bumpy and lowering do not go together.

 

i mean, its stock. i want something better. i just dont want my car slammed to the ground.

 

If you want a drop less than 2 inches, go with springs.

Less bouncy and you'll still be able to get a car jack under it.

I've got Aerospeed 2.25" springs with KYB GR-2 struts and the ride is soooo much better than when I had coilovers.

 

dont go coil over. i went there and now im going back to stock height and have to replace all four struts. Cant wait to drive my car again and not have my back hurt

 

ground controls anyone who says anything bad about ground controls doesnt know what there talkin about.

 

Eibach Sportlines lower the CRX/Civic 1.7 front and 1.5 rear but it's pretty brutal on OEM shocks with 200K !

 

I had sportlines on my crx before and they were very forgiving. They provided a very comfortable ride and could be pushed every so often.

 

Yeah, you should buy my Neuspeed Sport springs in my sig - check them out! 1.75" lower in front, 1.5" lower in rear. Perfect for daily driving!

if you want comfy get progressive springs

 

personally i would go with coilovers over just springs because at least you can adjust it to what you want and later on if you change your mind on it you can change it again. i recommend skunk2's coilovers.

 

i will be buying these springs or coilovers in the next day. in the end what kind, eibach,ground control, neuspeed, progressive,skunk2?

 

im in the same boat..I have no idea which ones to buy...hows the coilovers ride?..what is it supposed to "feel" like...

thank you for the info, i am still trying to decide with the help of you guys. i mean i want to drive the car, which means i dont want it slammed, i had apex springs on the 98 civic when i had that car and they rode fine. help me choose??????????????

 

I have H&R sports, illuminas, mugen sways, neuspeed front sway, and a handfull of choice mugen bushings.

Now aside from the mugen stuff (swap poly, and susp. tech sways)...its a pretty cheap setup. And its one of the best handling 4g's Ive ever been in.
