Remove Trunk release/gas lever....
Hi, my gas lever broke the other day... and i need to take it apart so i can glue it back... i cant get a good enough angle with the thing in there, but i could do it if it was out... how do i remove the whole assembly? does the carpet have to go? i didnt see any screws there at plain sight... is there sum hidden ones sumwhere?
there is a little cover flap on the plastic surround fot the levers.pry it up and there's a screw under it that holds the cover on.remove it and you'll see the mounting points for the actual levers.you may only need to remove the cover though.

thats true ther is the little cover that hides a screw but there are also 2 10mm nuts one the side that you will need a open end wrench and some patience to get out the the whole thing will lift up and you can get at the cables
finally found the pic i was looking for:

yuo can see the screw(#32) that holds the cover(#16) on.you'll have to remove the lever covers (#18,#22) befre you can fully get off the cover-they just pull off.
you can then see the screws that allow the whole assembly to come up.the cables won't just fall out or anything from doing this.
