Default Roll bar ?

Anyone ever heard of S & W roll bars? They have them for 149 for a 8pt setup or like 220 for a 10pt. They exceed NHRA, IHRA & NMCA requirements but would they pass SCCA? Plus the 10-point roll cages are designed to remain behind the firewall and require no modifications to the stock dashboard. THey make em for EF,EG, and EKs.

What class would you be running in that would require a roll bar? Or, are you worried that you would be bumped up to a higher class is you do run one?

The rules for solo 1 for roll bars can be found in the following link:
(The list to the right is for a specific roll bar, but the right would be applicable to any bar)

http://www.teammiata.com/libs/...S.pdf

You could do some research to determine wheter the NHRA, IHRA, and NMCA requirements are similar. At least I got you started.

Happy hunting!

It doesn't require one but I just like the safer feeling then just the airbag and harness. Plus I'd feel a little better having a bar beside the harness bar. Plus 220 for a cage you can't go wrong with not having to **** your dash or 150 for the 8pt. Either way you can't lose.

Well, if it's not a requirement for you to have one, you should be ok with whatever bar. Wouldn't make any sense to say, "Well you don't have to have a bar, but if you do it must pass our stringent requirements!" The only thing that might dock you is that if you put it in there without securing it - and why would you do that?

I have found through recent searching that the bar must be ERW or DOM tubing...

a recent discussion was in the race forum.... there are some links to particular rules, like SCCA and NASA...check it out! It helped me

It was like 80 for the 10 point or 60 for the 8pt. Still thats pretty cheap.
