Default painting ic pipes

im planning on getting aluminized steel for my ic pipes from jcwhitney. i was wondering what paint do i use and do i have to sand of the aluminzed coating? thanks ht

I didn't sand mine, i just cleaned it dried it and used some 500 vht aluminuim paint from autozone $4.99. This was on Jcwhitney Aluminized steel piping.

It's been about 5 months and it still looks the same as day 1. Here are some pics if you'd like to see

EASTWOOD Get their ALUMA-BLAST paint. I listed a used B16 manifold on ebay and the bidding never went above $25. I re-listed it after painting it with aluma-blast and it sold for $80. Looked BRAND NEW!

I bought JC Whitney piping also and just used 900 degree high temp paint from pep boys in the color I wanted... (see photo album in signature)

For the manifold I used 1300 degree paint from pep boys and it didnt show signs of burning off for a good 3 months. What signs of heat it did show were easily touched up when needed.

I didnt prep either one except a good cleaning before painting.
