Do I need this clutch damper? (pix)
I am doing a tranny swap in to my SS lude with a F22 tranny from an accord. But I have to use savage parts due to the high price of new parts. So I am not sure if I will need the part that is in the square. it's between item 10 and item 11.

What does this part do? Does it just prevent the me from dropping the clutch too fast? It costs another 60 or so.

I recently replaced that part on my lude and yes it just dampens the force from dropping the clutch.I spoke with a friend of mine who races BMW's and he said they make an eliminator kit for the BMW's so apparantly its OK to do without it.

I recommend getting one. The clutch might impart too much driveline shock without it. HPOA swap thread: http://hpoa.org/showthread.php?t=1531
