My turbo prelude
Im in the process of putting a turbo in my 98 prelude. I have heard that it has weak ringlands and sleeves. Does anyone have a turbo lude? What do i need to do to my motors internals to run 7psi of boost? Or what kind of fuel management do i need? will an FMU work
Thanks
Thanks
Yo can run 7psi on stock i nternals much more and its not to safe, not sayting you cant but its better to build it agter 7psi i think. I mean you can save yourself a blown motor and build it or run it til it blows then build it either way. If you need any more info hit me up ive been bossted for a while now.
Also what kit are you putting on and what all have you done. Remember youll need a stronger clutch....

wrong, the atts will not be lost simply by putting on the turbo. Its high hp that kills the atts, it wasn't designed for it. a good estimate is roughly 300 whp (point at which you will lose it)

If you do not know what the ATTS unit is and does than I suggest that you read up about your car a little more. Just a heads up so that you dont run into problems down the line.

If your serious, I can work out a deal. Everything is either new or barely used.

ok you guys, we can just help the man out here. instead of talking about all this links and other threads, just help the poor guy out here, i mean you are right by telling him to go to those links and search, but just give some tips or answer his questions at the same time. nothing wrong with it. ATTS doesn't shut off at 300 whp, it's more like 240-260 whp and im not sure, but in another thread on H-T someone said that the hondata does not work with the ATTS system whatever ecu bull **** but hte AEM EMS does. i dono you guys can correct me on it if im wrong.
well if he read the thread i'm pretty sure he would have no more questions also it's alot of good info in there for those who are thinking of turboing their car.

Well, the link I referenced is a running thread we've had regarding boost, and it is 30 pages of solid info. I didn't just give him a link and tell him to search. Often, it is a lot easier to post a useful link up like that, rather than answering the same basic questions week after week

It is not hard to explain ATTS, it is a YAW CONTROL SYSTEM plain and simple and should not be confused with an LSD because they are totally different in function.

ok, if he couldn't understand "active torque transfer system" he wont understand what Yaw Control System is.

i think the bottom line is, some of us are sick of reinventing the wheel. Yeah it's one thing to answer a simple question every couple of weeks, but having to explain to someone what goes into a turbo build every week?!? no thanks. yeah sure i learn alot (and i'm an all motor guy) but it gets tedious. There have been greater discussions on the topic with people who know what they're talking about. and seeking out those discussions is much more proactive and effective than asking us for help.
cheers.
