Default How to tell if a tranny is still good

im going to buy a ls swap but the clutch and flywheel are gone so the owner took apart the tranny from the motor how do i tell if the tranny's gear are still good and the syncros?? also the motors a 95 how do i tell if its legit?

haha ya but im afraid i might buy a beat up tranny something i dont want if i take the clutch and flywheel off will i have acess to the gears? and syncros?
