Icebox Voids Your Warranty?
I thought it doesn't and it shouldnt. But I went to the dealership today, and talked to the parts guy about it. He went to talk to the service manager and then gave me a half-*** answer: "Well, we can't guarantee that it won't void the warranty, but for the most part, you should be OK."
This is total BS. Far from the answer I was looking for. And all of a sudden, I am not sure if should put the Icebox on. I went there today to place the order, and now, I am still debating it. If they can't tell me straight-up that my warranty will stay intact, then maybe I should just go with a drop-in filter. The 2-3 whp the Icebox adds to a stock car is not worth giving Honda any reason to void the warranty.

It really all depends on the dealership's attitude and the Acura rep in general. If you had a problem with your brakes or something like that they wouldn't void your warranty. Engine problems should be OK too.
Your dealer may have an **** warranty rep, though. If you develop motor/tranny problems, they may say the icebox "increased the torque of your motor and that increased torque casued the problem" and thus deny you coverage. My dealer won't look at my sunroof rattle because "the modified suspension creates a harsher ride, thus causing interior rattles." I've got a squeaky steering system (I think it needs lubing on the bushings) but I'm pretty sure the dealer rep will blame my .75" lowering on my problem...never mind that the ITR is the same height (of course they'll feed me BS like the sterring system on the ITR compensates for the height...blah blah.
Good luck, dude...if your car does break, take the icebox off

Put the Icebox on. If something **** up it won't be because of the Icebox, and you can always just take it off and go back to stock if your worried your dealer is an ***.
Your warranty does not cover any problems caused by aftermarket mods. If you want to make sure to keep your warranty coverage in the event of any problems, then don't put the mods on.
And don't expect coverage if you put them on and take them off and claim they were never there - that's called "fraud" and it's illegal (as well as being wrong).

I don't understand both Acura dealers around my area told me that I/H/E doesn't voit my warranty. I was told by both sales & service managers at both location. Actually they even recomended that I did it. Something about it helping engine work more efficent, **** they sold me my comptech icebox intake. However they did state any mods that messed with the timing or electrical system would void my warranty. They even made it clear not to use NOS. I'm glad I'm surounded by such cool dealers. Your local dealers need to pull their thumbs out their ***!
your warranty should'nt be voided!! unless you do anything internal piston's,cam gears etc...**** i had my third gear syncronizer replaced under warranty. and i had a full mugen i/h and exhaust and they didnt say nothing...i guess its all where you live....good luck.....mugen
