Cobalt brake pads
which of these pads are most of you users using for street/track use? i was reading on the site a little and think the GT-Sport pads are what i should go with. any other suggestions?
Im running the GT Sports, worked pretty good for my first HPDE back in November. Very little squeaking and low brake dust. Give Cobalt a call and they will pick out the right pad for you
Combo pads?
GT Sports are ok. Kinda on the high squeal side. Carbotech Panther + should also be a decent combo pad. If you like spending $$$ on pads, Endless CC-X is pretty damned good.

Oh. I don't use Endless pads. Yet anyway. The whole $2xx dollars for front pads from Endless compared to $2xx dollars for both front AND rear pads from everywhere else sort of keeps me from buying Endless products at the moment.
But I've driven a car with CC-X on track and it surprised me how well they performed. Especially considering they're almost a no squeal pad.

GT-Sports here on my GSR for autocross/HPDE/daily-driving
They were pulling the daily driving duties over my christmas break mainly cuz it was too cold for me to get lay on concrete and change them in the garage. I really only drive my car in season, so not a huge problem.
Now, for the impressions of the pads:
Put them on all four corners, bed them in properly per Cobalts instructions, and they work great.
Cold bite is very good, I have yet to fade them yet at HPDE, but I am still new to HPDE, so the pads you get will be determined by how hard you stomp them on the track.
They do squeek a little bit. But I really could care less about that. For what you get out of them its worth it to me. We drive loud cars, I think you can put up with a little squeeking.
I have used them for an entire season, but this will depend on how much you beat your car around (have fun in your car) to how long they last.
They dust quite a bit in my opinion when you get them up to temperatures, but that hasn't turned me away from them yet. I have dark wheels, and these are something any person should use on track, as you will not care any longer about them because they really don't show dust.
The dust comes off the wheels and when it happens off the side of the car. Dust is non-corrosive, so you shouldn't worry about it if you get it off rather quickly.
Give Andi a call and talk to him if you have any more in-depth questions about his pads, he is very knowledgable
P.S. Make sure you bleed your lines with some nice fluid when you're finished installing whatever pads you choose as to take full advantage of your new setup.
Good Luck
