Default Strip and Clearcoat GSR wheels - how to?

I would like to strip and re-clear my 95 fat fives. I did a search and got 1 post so I say we need a thread for this anyway! I already know I am going to have the tires removed from the wheels. Then apply aircraft remover on all of them. Is the next step to sand them? Should I follow the same routine as sanding a valve cover? Most importantly what clear coat should I buy and where from? Thanks!

Even after sanding and polishing, you'll probably never regain the luster they had from the factory. It's too much work than it's worth. You'd be better off with powdercoating.

You dont think stripping them down to bare aluminum and re-clearcoting them would make them nice again?

The sides of the spokes (the part w/ textured surface, not the outer machined surface) have paint on them, and they look pretty nasty if the paint is stripped off. I do not recommend stripping unless you plan on applying paint right afterwards.
