you'll need jdm headlights and a jdm hood in addition to the kit that you described:

this is what you're speaking of, right?

Well they dont make them anymore. To my understanding Andy's Auto Sport or some small body kit company like that is making a comp of that. To find an authentic one be prepared to pay through your nose for it. I have seen them sell on eBay and privately for between $800-$3000US depending on the shape of the kit.

The genuine kit is designed for a fit with the JDM CRX hood and headlights. You might be able to get creative with the hood but the headlights I doubt. Also the turn signal are needed. If you get your hands on one of these and hack it up to make it fit that would defeat the purpose.

Look on ebay, google it.

The JDM hood and Lights are different, the JDM hood Pops up, when the USDM hood goes down wouldnt be worth getting the mugen to try to fit it to your USDM Front, if you did that, just get a WW RS Kit.
BTW That CRX is dope as HELL!!!

if your spotting real mugen kits for $400.00 its too good to be true. the last one i saw on ebay was really f*cked up and it was selling at $1200.00 with bidders.

you can always buy the Wings West kit for $900.00 new and you won't need to find all the extra parts you need with the Mugen kit like headlights, hood, bumper lights.

the mugen kit is hot though... i bet the WW kit could be modded to look like that and even hold those bumper lights...Hmmmmm

yea, i've seen it done. IMO, kits are starting to get played out, especially the WW...everyone has it.

true true...if my car didn't have it already i probably wouldn't have it either.

Ironchef, buy what you want...make your car how you want it. just because someone says kits are played out doesn't mean you can't have one. the WW kit is on alot of CRXs now, but it still makes the car look so sexy and im sure there are quite a few people even on HT that can agree with that.

good luck with your search.

WW is afordable.. Mugen is on the pricey end.

like everyone says.. its up to you, dont' get what everyone else has.. get it becuase of the way you think it looks on your car.

personaly, im a JDM *****.. lol, i have a JDM SiR front end, and alot of other JDM goodies.. i rocked the WW kit back in the day.. but its not OEM JDM shizznit.. so i gave it up. its all up to you.

Suppose that i get a jdm front end conversion on my crix, would that make my choice to only a mugen front bumper instead of having a ww kit. If so, could i just get the mugen front bumper and use the sideskirts, door caps, and rear bumper from wings west to cut down on price.

importfan.com makes a copy of the kit, I don't know the quality but I have never seen that kit sold anywhere else, and if you got the money to get the real deal off ebay, then go for it, but your gonna be searching and spending a lot of dough for it. Also if you want to get a JDM kit, then you have to finish it with the JDM fenders, lights, hood. You could always get the JDM bumpers, they have the whole EF conversion at passwordjdm.com for 850. That's the front end only though.

The WW RS kit is "Mugen style" using USDM parts..

we ALL know USDM and JDM front ends don't interchange. thus the WW bumber addapting USDM headlights.

to me.. thin EF8 moldings, and rear lip, and a complete EF8 front end blow the WW, and for that matter the Mugen kit out of the water any day.

not to ***** this thread.. but this is my work in progress.

In japan there's an 88 si for sale sporting the usdm-fitting mugen kit... $2300 for the entire car (ex shipping off course)

the problem with those beeing more rare than the siR mugen kit, is the simple fact that ALL crx's in japan made in 90-91 have the siR nose over there...

So there's more Mugen kits fitting that... currently there's a broken mugen front bumper for sale on the japanese auctions... it's fetching around $100 right now with two days to go... Imma gonna see if I can pick it up :D

Guess what I found on ebay.....

If I had the money right now I would get it. But because I don't have it I think one of my fellow HT'ers should.
