Default motor hitting hood HARD

i just finished an lsvtec swap into an ek. everything started up fine. had a couple of gremlins, all but one are now gone. after babying it for a couple days, i decided to hit hard. well, during medium to aggressive shifting, the motor hits the hood very hard. i tried it with the car jacked up and i swear the motor jumps about 6 inches. way more than any other motor i have ever seen before. a friend said that it might be that the motor mount inserts are bad. any ideas? thanks in advance.

Check out all the mounts to see if the rubber is torn. Double check that all the bolts are tight.

Buddy of mine had similar problem except not as extreme. Turns out it was a bad mount.

mine was the driver's side. beware and get an aftermarket one. and possibly those inserts or jimfab torque mounts too. The driver's side engine mount(engine bay) exploded and had what looked like brake fluid all up in the left side of the car.

more than likely its the ac/braket mount. on the driver side from bottom of block. i ran an ls/vtec in my 98 4 dr but i never had this problem then again i was running a thin no frame carbon fiber hood. what hood are you using.. a stock hood lays lower than a carbon fiber.

More than likely your motor mounts are bad or one of them uninstall. When you jerk with your hand hard, it shouldn't move more than a couple cm. In my experience, my friend turbo mr2 did this after his friend install his clutch. Came to me and it turned out, one of his mount was uninstall . Good luck
