SRT-4 will win hands down... how about a RSX-S with some mods... maybe a Toda kit? That might be close??

those srt-4's run like a 5.7 0-60 and under 14 secs in the 1/4 mile. All the bolt-ons on an rsx-s should equate to a close race. ALthough I'm not a huge fan of domestics, those dodge's have some crazy bang for the buck.....

i was at fontana this past weekend...i saw a handful of srt-4's run....frm what i saw off the line was a big traction problem...the fastest srt-4 i saw which was modded up ran a 13.1..the rest of them were in high 14's...and some in 15s

Come on now, you have to admire dodge for putting out something that fast for so little money. I give respect where respect is due, I have seen some bone stock SRT 4's pull mid to high thirteens. I personally would not own one, but I still respect them. SRT 4 will always win an RSX.

I think a type-s with some mods can take a srt-4. When i look at it realisticly the rsx is a stronger motor. We have 200 at the flywheel NA, while if the srt-4 was NA the horsepower of that engine is around like 160 at the flywheel. Now the srt-4 has 220 hp with the turbo. So we can say that it probably getting about 200 even to the wheels. Our rsx-s are averaging 170 to the wheels. Intake, Header, Exhaust, and Hondatat #4 will put us close to 200 Whp or at it. Once you have these two cars putting down the same WHP, the only factors that are left is the drivers racing experience.

But bottom line i feel we have the stronger motor.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever read. I've actually lost IQ points and want my 2 minutes back that I wasted reading it.

Of course if both cars have the same whp then it's a drivers race. The entire "if it was NA" or "if the Type S was boosted" argument is horsesh1t. Also, the 220 crank hp rating is LOW. STOCK SRT-4's are putting down 235WHP. STOCK.

A HEAVILY modded Type S MAY beat a stock SRT-4. I know there's a guy by me running low 14's high 13's in his RSX-S. There are also SRT-4s running low 13's here too.

I've raced one at the track in my Si and I beat him by like 2 hundreths of a second (plus 5 tenths at the tree). It's a really impressive car.

235 WHP give me break. My cousin has one and we dynoed the car it put 209 to the wheels, stock. Stock srt's the fastest i seen here in jersey was a 14.4

Then come to south FL and I'll introduce you to them.

A handful at 220
2 dyno'd at 227
and 1 at 235-ish (I add ish because it may have been like 233 but it was in the low 30's for sure)

my 2 cents worth... for kicks the other day my friend and i were out test driving cars, one of which was the neon.
i must say that dodge has done a very good job a hitting the target. we test drove an 04 model which now comes w/ a quaife lsd.
both of us have owned type r's, and now we own an s2k and a rx7 tt.
we were both very impressed. the seats are'nt bad,a little soft on side bolstering, the shifter is not honda smooth but very good. acceleration is nice, not much turbo lag. the built in boost guage is a nice feature. factory upgrades, covered by warranty are not bad either..
the exhaust note is very nice, hard to believe there is not a traditional muffler on this car.
i would have to ditch the rear wing.

all in all i would give dodge a for effort.
however, it is a neon, and i would probably never own one.
now if only honda or someone else would step up to the plate and offer something like this package, at 20 grand...that would be great...... turbo power from the factory.

No a modded Rsx-S will not win .......

The 160 base engine in the Neon , is not the same as in the SRT-4 ....

and the new SRT-4 makes 250hp ....over last years 240 ....and now has an LSD ...
