LS/VTEC on EK..car just died! (HELP?)
Here's what happened..
a buddy of mine recently did a ls/vtec swap on his 98 hatch. Drove..everything was one until 1 day..one of the bolt on the clutch cylinder got loose (no clue how) and ripped that clutch cylinder beyond believe. So we replaced w/ a new one. Now...it was fine for a day (he even drove it to atlantic city that night w/o a problem). Next time on his way to work (about 1/10 mile away from his home), his car just shut down (rpm dropped, car stalled). I came by and told him to crank the car. It cranks the first time few times but then it just make that long aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa noise. Thought it was starter so he replaced it...no go. I check the for sparks (yes), seems like fuel's going in. Now we're pulling our hairs out because we have no clue what could cause this. Could it be
(1)faulthy ground
(2)distributor (hihgly unlikely since we're getting sparks)
(3)fuel pump (but we smell fuel and even see fuel when we took out the sparkplugs).
Anybody anybody?

Jeff-
It's hard to say if you can't hear the noise, check if the alternator is turning. Long time ago I snaped a acesory belt on a Cheavy 302 cuz the alternatior locked up and car died instantly.
