just did my rear brakes 1000 miles ago, now squeeking
Had my rotors turned and put in AEM / Nissin pads....I had one of the pads not lined up with the piston nipple for maybe 200 miles, but then I fixed it so it's perfect, and the other side was perfect all along. Temp's have been 40-55F around here late. Would the AEM hi-po pads be squeking b/c of this? It's only at like 5 mph when I'm coming to a stop, they dont do it at any other speed. I want to look at them tomorrow, anything I should look for?? Thx!
The squealing that you're getting is from a harmonic vibration between your pads and rotor. To eliminate the vibration you must do something to break the pattern. I normally just put a few scratches in the rotor from the center out with a flat headed screwdriver. This is no different than many of the rotors that you see that already have grooves in them. This will eliminate the squeal immediately, just do it in the gaps in your rim, they dont need to be deep.
Dont worry about rotor wear, mine are still original with 162100 miles

hmmm...interesting....
I notice a pulsing also at lower speeds...but that could be from my almost dead powerslots /AEM's in the front
Never heard of "scraping" the rotors...hmm..
DC -yes I had the rotors resurfaced (turned).

they only had 12 autocross days, a Pocono day with Hawk Blues eatin' at them, and a few thousand miles of my street driving... scary they are usable at all~!
AND you drive like a crazy man also! crazy lawn trashing import drivers!
