My 94 GS-R vs a non vtec prelude???
My friend has a 93 non vtec prelude with an intake and apexi dunk exhaust. I have a 94 gs-r with an intake and dc header and rear hatch emptied out. Who do you think will win??
You, unless you're an awful awful driver
Just remember: clutches are cheap and redline is your friend.
His car weighs about 3000lb and has 160hp (Si?) or 130hp (S?). You're around 2700lb with 170hp. All signs point to you.

dude, I don't mean to be an ***, but this topics are worthless! Just go racing and find out for yourself. Sometimes numbers on paper do not tell the whole story!
If you really need to know, I'll help you out. Which model lude does your friend have? The S lude only has 135 hp and is a dog!! you'll beat him even if you screw your lunch. The SI lude has 160 hp and lots of torque (156? I don't remember). Those lude are quick! He might take you off the line because of the superior torque, but you should pass him in 3rd gear.
Also, don't just look at HP but also look at torque, weight, gear ratios, traction, etc.

you will win. I ROASTEd one of those, he thought he wass bad cause he had i/h/e. Those ludes are more in the league for ls's
You should definately win. You should have no problem with Prelude S or Prelude Si's. Prelude VTEC are a different story however...
Race 'em with Confidence. You should win.

so Im guessing my RS with AEM CAI wont beat my friends new 95 prelude Vtec??? I was hoping it would at least keep up. He just got the car today so I have not had a chance to race him yet.

i drive my team members 96 prelude si(H23 non vtec) quite often. when i raced him in my gsr he kept up off the line but i took him easily after 2nd gear. when i was driving his car, i smoked a LS off the line and through the gears. with the information u gave me about both of your mods, u should be able to destroy him...if u dont then u need to polish up on your launch/shifting skills. without those you will get taken out.....but if youre a fairly good driver you should be able to take him especially if he has a S model....no contest whatsoever.
You should be able to win no problem. If you suck at driving, you should still be able to win. A vtec prelude will be a different story though...you can win from the start, but as you approach the 1/4 mile, the prelude will most likely start gaining on you.
I whooped *** on a prelude si with a 70 shot. You should be able to destroy that thing. There is a guy that I autocross with who has a 94 Gs-r with the same exact mods as you Cai,dc 4-1.With his car stripped he ran a 14.3.You should have no problem whatsoever.
my 94 predlue SI ran a 15.63 bone stock...
my 01 gsr ran a 15.68 bone stock
its a pretty even race...Prelude will win off the line with the right launch, but the gsr will catch it in the upper gears

I agree with 01GSR, I personally raced a 4G Lude Si with I/E in my 93 GS-R (stock) and lost by about 2 cars. In 1st he just left me by a good car length, I'd reel him in on top, but we'd hit the next gear and again he's put a little more distance on me, top of second I'd reel him injust a bit, we hit 3rd it remained the same till like 7k where I'd slowly inch up on him but by this time we both knew we were going a little too fast for where we were so.. off the throttle. Maybe on the expressway from 70ish we'd be even or I'd inch on him, but make no mistake those Si Lude's are very slow at all. To put it into perspective, I've raped too many Civic Si's and beaten a good share of 3G GS-R's in my old GeeSeR, so make no mistake, that Lude was quick!
