Default Just wondering......

Just wondering why so many S2k's have so many different times. I have raced our S and all the other S2k's that I see at the track I beat. And 99% of the time they have more mods than I do. The ones that I have seen here in Az run 15.0 or maybe 14.8.

I think it's mainly driver skill more than anything. If they are running high to low 15s, they do not know how to launch and drive the car.

What are the proper rpms for launching? I have yet to do a mid to high rpm launch in my car due to fear of braking something or damaging the clutch assembly.

Well I guess I am that good at racing. LOL I understand that, but even with the mods that these other S2k's have on them you'd think they could be getting better than 15.0 even if they don't know how to drive. I am only 4'11 and have had only 5 months of practice racing a rear wheel drive car. I, as my name states am used to civics and such. I have only taken the S to the track about 3 times. i do fear however fish tailing when launching. That has happened about 2 times and it scares me every time.

I would think after 2-3 runs people would be tired of drag racing an S2k. Drag racing is just such a waste of an S2k IMO..

yeah, it should be taken to a road course, but it still is fun to get to the track and race.
