anyone running 235 or wider tires on a 5th gen?
I'm looking at getting a set of tires in 235/40-17 to fit some 17x7.5 rims. Has anyone ever done this before? More traction is good but I don't want to be rubbing too much. I'm dropped about 1" on teins and could raise them up if needed. Also what kind of offset am I looking at to advoid rubbing?

I'm personally running some 225/45/16 Kumho Supra Ectsa's on stock 16" rims with no adverse effects. For the drop you are talking about, I'd say go with 215/40/17 tires with the 7.5" rims. You could probably get away with even 225/40/17's but i'd check with your tire/wheel dealer for your application. I personally wouldn't go as wide as the 235 mm tires though as they may rub slightly on that drop with those rims. You may have to roll your fenders to get away with that one. As for the offset, i'd say go with a 40+ or higher offset as the stock rims are like 50+. This should work out for you but again, check with your wheel dealer for advice.
