Default Need advice on a transmission for my '90 integra...

Well right now my '90 GS is being stripped and prepped for Racing (Auto-X) and the transmission will need a lot of work. 1) the Clutch must be replaced - slips so much it's not funny , 2) the synchros are shot, and 3) it no longer shifts into any gear (with the clutch in it just grinds as I try to put it into any gear, especially reverse). Originally the car had an automatic tranny, But I converted it to manual nearly 2 years ago.

It looks like to fix the S1 Cable transmission would be major work and expense, which would make getting a 'new' transmission actually a better option to me. Also, since the car is going to be for track use only (Auto-X for now...) I think it would be better to go with a better geared tranny for low speed acceleration. Plus, I really would like the added benefit of an LSD.

Right now I'm thinking of either an ITR or SiR tranny, though not sure on the availability of them around here. The main goal is to have the closest ratio transmission possible for the B18A engine. I am going to rebuild the engine (if it's in good shape) as the rings have finally worn down so much that smoke is starting go out the exhaust. The rebuild will be mainly stock (I really don't need to up the power that much with all the weight I'm reducing from it) as I want reliability first. So it's not going to produce a whole lot more than the stock 130 hp and 120 lbft of torque.

The question is what would be the best tranny to get for the B18A engine?

Stick with a S1 B16 tranny, it comes with USDM ITR gear ratios. The only tighter cable tranny is the YS1, but those are extremely hard to come by.
