I dont know if anything is wrong with my car but since the last 10k miles and towards the beginning of the summer I just noticed how loud my motor runs.. Im getting my valves adjusted soon, I "think" my oil changes have been done properly, I dont know how it was before i got my car but since i bought it I have changed the oil every 3-4k miles..
Is it normal for the motor to just run "loud" .. it just seems like the collection of noises from the belts and motor and everything just seems a bit much for only 70k miles..

I dont really know what im asking here, i guess i am just wanting to know if its normal to hear lots of noise from the engine bay or am i just paranoid!

 

Replace your stock intake w/ a AEM cold air intake, see if that helps.

 

huh as a matter a fact, i have an AEM intake,.,.. I think im just paranoid but I feel like my car sounds like one of those beaters u roll up next to at a stop light and u hear all this noise coming from under the hood.. I know its not really that bad, its just when its cold thats really loud..

 

valve adjustment needed?

 

yes try a valve adjustment and maybe next time try heavier weight oil (10w30) if it doesn't get too cold over where you live

 

Have you checked for exhaust leaks?

 

Valve Adjustment and slightly thicker 10W-30 oil should quiet things down a bit.

 

cool, i definitly thought it had sumthin to do with the oil.. Im goin synthetic my next oil change.. and getting a valve adjustment soon.. Hopefully things quiet down

 

do you have a header installed?? after i installed my dc sports header, my engine also sounded loud. i thought i needed a valve adjustment, but i didn't.

 

nope no header.. just intake and exhaust.. they are both coming off soon
