Well, Rs have great handling characteristics. Thier motors were amazing at the time of release. Called one of the best 4 cylinder motors of all time. They track very well, are fun to drive, and rare as well.

Hype-R's suck!
No sunroof!
Loud as hell inside.
They get stolen everyday.
They only come in white, black, and yellow (in the U.S.)
Stupid red valve cover.
The shift **** gets really hot on hot days and really cold on cold days!
But with all of that, I really like mine a lot.

That's quite right!

Good/fast/cheap sorta covers it, but that's like saying the Mona Lisa is just a picture of some fat chick!

Not to get confused but if u look at u look at his sig u'll see BeBe17A which =Old School GS-R that happens to be on da bottle so more than likely he can smoke half the R's on H-T.
But don't u think the ol school GS-R is in the same boat as the R?

No, there isn't even a comparison.

To tell you how fun the ITR is, I gave up a Porsche Turbo for mine.

I like to keep my insurance company in business! Statistic and comparisons don't do justice to the R. Being 25 years old, it's the nicest sports car I can afford.

Porsche Turbo&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;& gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt ;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;ITR unless you are talking about a 80s model porsche</TD></TR></TABLE>

Well, everything depends on which model. The 924 Turbo absolutely sucked, the 930 Turbo absolutely ruled. The 951 was an honest sports car with lots of potential that posted numbers very similar to the ITR with the exception of high speed acceleration. The 959 was a supercar that bore the title of "Worlds fastest car" for a few years.

I had a 1988 951 S, which sported somewhere within the realm of 250 horses, LSD, rear wheel drive, and it was one of the first cars ever to offer a perfect 50/50 weight balance. As nice as it was, it couldn't match the raw feeling of the ITR, even with a few mild upgrades. The only advantage the Porsche had over the R was the fact that the acceleration was more solid all the way up to truly stupid speeds. The R feels better in pretty much every driving situation except high speed driving (which I don't do enough of to really matter). Handling is superb in the Porsche, but the ITR can match and exceed it with relative ease. Both attract lots of attention so I won't go into the details of that matter.

In a nutshell, the 951 was fast, but the itr is simply a hell of a lot more fun.

I should also note that I have driven the 993 Turbo and the 996 Turbo and at low speeds, the ITR is comparable to either. On a tight road course, the 996 would have a tough time matching the ITR. Naturally the ITR can't compare to either at high speeds.

type r's are just sick and clean looking cars, and they are fast, and you won't find too many r's out there on the streets!

This isnt the forum to be bragging about a stock car with NOS. It doesnt impress anyone here but if you were to put a bottle on a stock R that GS-R would be toast.

Of course, the truly sane know that cars are primarily about transportation and care more about safety, comfort and reliability than racetrack handling.

Then there are the rest of us, the folks for whom the Type R was made
