Hmmm, sorry, I could have sworn this one got answered. There was another thread discussing the mechanical incompatibilities of 3g Preludes and 4g Accords.
Any F series motor (4 and 5g Accord and 4g Prelude S) or H series motor (2.3 liter non VTEC from 4g Prelude Si and 2.2 VTEC from 4 and 5g Prelude VTEC) should drop right in. There are usually some minor annoyances due to so many combinations of chassis and engines.

i asked about mixing and matching some of the parts before, but now i am wondering if the whole thing will drop in. this is a 3rd generation prelude engine, not the 4th gen. i'm not sure what gen the 90 accord is, but will the 3rd gen prelude engine fit?

90- 93 is a fourth gen accord and h224door already explained the rest.

he just said that the 4th gen motors will drop in, but he didn't say the 3rd gen can't drop in. he just said there was no way you could swap parts, like i had asked in another forum.

i guess i will just have to pull out the accord motor and see if the prelude motor will fit. trial and error, it seems is the only way to find out.

I've never heard of it being done, probably because even though the 2.1 is more powerful, it is a smaller displacement than the Accord's stock motor.
I'm sure you'll have to fabricate motor mounts. The F22/H22/Accord has 4 motor mounts, how many on that 3g Prelude engine?

4 mounts as well - actually, i was looking at the mounts tonight, and they look a little different in shape, but i think they will mount to the block the same way - i should be able to just use the accord mounts to do it - but i was just curious at the moment - i don't actually have the car yet. if i get it, i plan on trying to fit the prelude motor, and i will let you know if it works or not. thanks for your input so far.
