Burning coolant...
ive been having a problem with my coolant system it seems. when i drive hard or go uphill for long periods of time, i notice that my car smells like coolant afterwards when i pop the hood. it also sometimes smokes faint white smoke from around the intake manifold area. i also notice that my reserve tank drains fairly quicky lowering an inch every 2 trips. help? can this be my waterpump? i dont ovetheat or anything, i run at normal operating temp, it just smells and smokes. thanks.
Sounds like you got a leak in one of the small secondary collant lines around your thermastat.. There are some small lines that run coolant to your T/B and I/M.. check them out, one may have a split or a clamp could be leaking.. the white smoke is probably steam..
Honda318dx - sounds like he hit it on the head. Must be around thermostat and or TB. Check after engine is hot, while running. Check for steam, then replace that part.
Is your car overheating?

another thing to double check just for ***** and giggles is if there's a hint of a white haze around the inside of your oil cap. Never hurts to look.
