which lips do yall prefer? the mugen lip or type r lip for the 96-00 series civics. i have a 99 civic hatch and havin a hard time makin a decision. i really like both...im aimin more towards mugem lip, but its time to make a choice. so which one shall it be?

by the way anyone know anywhere that sells them lips for a good price? ive been searchin ebay and every damn lip has $50+ shipping and handeling . those bastards...

i have a 5th gen but i just ordered a type r lip i will tell u if i like it when i get it put on, but just in my opinion its cleaner lookin.

 

type-r, looks cleaner. unless u have other mugen stuff and want to match with them, then go mugen lip. just the type-r to me looks better.

I would go for Type-R lip. Looks clean and similiar to the Si lips. I sell Lips for $39.99. ABS Plastic, clean, strong, and popular over here. I sell 10 a week. The thing about the Type-R lips is that they are available in rear lips also and so your car would match perfect because 96-00 Civics come with that stock side skirt. Pimp status. Let me know.

 

i also had this same dilemma. I like the type r, but its a little simple for my taste. I went with the Mugen lip.

 

I have both. I just switch em' up when I get tired of one.

i got the whole mugen kit.. front rear and sides.. i cant wait to throw it on thie spring .. noone around here has it as far as i have seen!!!

My buddy had the mugen one. I thought it was clean but it looks way better on the 6th gen then the 5th gen. I prefer the type R cause it's simple, but then again on your gen civic both look really nice. I'm from your area, my buddy use to stock up on those but I don't know if he still carries them. My buddy sold his mugen one for 50 bucks. If you want let me know and I'll ask him again if he still has them. They go for $75 but I think he had a mis order type R one he wanted to get rid of for cheap.

 

Definately IT-AAAAAARRRRRRRRRR style for 96-00 civics. If it were an EH2 it would be a tossup.

typr r on a 99 hatch looks better, but if it was a 99 coupe then I think mugen would look better.

Both are good choices. I think the R lip is a little more subtle and gives a cleaner look. The mugen stands out a bit more as an aftermarket bolt on but not in a bad way. Its your car, you decide. I am personally thinking of doing a Type R lip on my SI to replace the oem one.

 

Why I like the mugen more on the 6th gens.

Still I'd rather get the Type R on the 5th gen.
