KYB AGX or Tokico Blues???
its time for me to get some new shocks for my car and i have read good posts about both Tokico Blues (HP) and KYB AGX's...one of these are going to go with my Ground Controls...im planning on purchasing them through ebay and the lowest price ive seen on the AGX's is $316.49 shipping included (no tax needed)...and the Tokico Blues were $262.30 after shipping and tax...is the AGX's really worth the extra $55??? I've heard that most people don't even adjust the dampening...what do you guys think?
AGXs are worth it. i just switched from Tokico Blues to AGXs and i LOVE the AGXs! i like it cuz you can adjust the setting to however you want your ride to be.. stiff or soft. With Tokico Blues, you have to take what you get. If you don't like how it rides... you just gotta accept it.
i'd say spend the extra 55 and get the AGXs for sure. that's a good price too. i got mine for $320 shipped, and i thought that was a good deal. sheesh!

If you absolutely had to pick between the BLues and the AGX's. definately get the AGX's. Nothing beats the adjustability of the AGX over the blues.

AGX > HP's by faaaarrrrrr
HP = marginally better OEM replacement
AGX = real performance adjustable shock
Of course I run Koni adjustables but I wanted the best and saved up longer for it.

do i need any kind of special adaptor for the agx or tokico blues to fit my ground controls...i checked the groundcontrol website but it doesnt specify which shocks fit...it only gives numbers like (1, 2, 4 ,5)

No, I know for a fact that you can use your stock Ground Control sleeves on the AGX's. You just might need to use the different sized (smaller) o-rings that came with your GC's to make em fit tight.
i had both the agx's and the blue's. kyb does not support theyre warranty past a drop of 2 inches. keeping it on the stiffest setting which is 4 is too hard to be driving around, every bump is like going into a deep pothole. setting 3 is a bit more comfortable , but still very tight and stiff. i was afraid to go any lower because of possible damage to the shock. the blue's are comfortable, they support the drop and they feel very smooth over bumps. car still handles good also. if it was me, id get the blues. i am more into comfort and luxury now, and i dont want to have a bumpy stiff ride. my set-up is as follows:
integra type-r suspension
neuspeed race springs
tokiko blue shocks
4 door gs-r

i have a 4dr gsr too w/ the AGXs but i really like the ride at the 3rd setting. i agree that 4 is too stiff for daily.. but since stiffer ride=better handling.. it makes it all ok.
my car has a drop of 2.5" or more and my shocks are still being good to me. i know that the lower your car, the quicker your shocks are going to go bad... but i'm willing to take that sacrifice. when i had the Tokico Blues, i didn't notice a great difference from it to stock shocks. they're not bad shocks @ all.
it all depends on what you want.
if you're trying to go for performance.. then i'd say get the AGXs. but if you're trying to just go for a comfortable ride and aren't planning to drive your car too hard, then i'd say get the Blues and save money. let us know what you decide to do.

Agree totally.. I'm planning on going back to blues because my car is very lower and i like that way. The blues are better for car lower than 2 inches

i have the agx, and they're great. You can adjust them all in under a minute. If you can't afford the Koni Yellows than the agx will be the next best thing. i like the stiff ride imo.
I have the GC/blues set up on my gsr, and i kinda like the way they ride. If i were you thouth, id spend the extra $$ and get shocks that are adjustable just because you can pick the ride that you like best.
