I am making or buying an inexpensive breather setup as outlined here.

The hose I see used seems to be regular hardware store type tubing. Can anyone provide some more details? Any issues with melting? Maybe some one knows of a good inexpensive hose that resists high temp, or will any hose do?

 

The clear stuff w/ the white braids inside has been proven and is cheap too. $4 for a 10' roll at home depot. I made my own as well. total for all fittings, tubing, and filter was $26. I had it with no filter and it looked much better but then I added it, i could always plug it up and try it out.

 

Thanks, where did you get the materials (metal). I have a flux core mig welder, which should work fine (it doesn't have to be pretty)

Scrap yards, one piece of 2"x2" square, 4" of 2" angle iron, and a little piece of round 1". dumpster diving behind fabrication shops is always rewarding too.
